Praying the Rosary on ZOOM

When the Holy Rosary is said well, it gives Jesus and Mary more glory and is more meritorious than any other prayer.       - Saint Louis de Montfort

How It Began

After two weeks of lock-down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much thought was given to how Mont Carmel could continue to come together as a community and stay united in prayer. On Thursday, March 26, 2020, one parishioner decided to initiate a Rosary prayer session on ZOOM. The word spread quickly, and every Thursday evening thereafter, a group of devoted parishioners gathered to recite the Rosary together in both English and Italian, led by our three parish priests. Most elderly parishioners joined by dialing in whereas younger parishioners joined via the Internet. Despite the physical distance mandate, the power of community, faith, and technology united all Mont Carmel parishioners—both young and old—with God.

Even though we were asked to practice social distancing, the parishioners at Mont Carmel did not distance themselves from God during the pandemic.

Where We Are Now

Praying the Rosary on ZOOM has became an integral part of our Church, and once the Churches were allowed to open again, we still continued to pray together via ZOOM, and it is going strong to this day! Aside from praying the Rosary every Thursday evening, there are several cenacles led by Father Francis, Father Luc, Father Giancarlo, & Father Rinaldo during the week. Please see below for our schedule.
